We are blessed to offer students opportunities to grow in their passions, while strengthening their bonds of community.
Music: Guitar, Ukelele, Recorder and Percussion lessons are age-related and part of the weekly cirriculum. Private piano tuition is also offered on Thursdays. Please enquire at the school office for more information.
Drama, Art, Language & More: Specialist kaiako/teachers come on Wednesdays to teach our Year 7 & 8 akonga/students a range of different subjects. Visual Art, Music, Food and Nutrition, French, Biblical Studies, Photography, Drama, and Wood Technology are some subjects offered.
School Production: Every two years, we have a School Production which allows every child to participate. These are musical with plenty of characterisation showcasing the acting, dancing and musical talents of the children across our kura. It is a show stopping sell-out!
Easter Service: This is a time when we share the Gospel story with family. Through recognising humankind’s broken relationship with God and need of a Saviour, we examine the death and resurrection of Jesus, the Good News of sin & death defeated, and the opportunity for restoration with God.
Multicultural Dinner: With over 18 different Nations in our kura, we celebrate our multicultural composition with an annual dinner.
Spring Fair: A bi-annual event where students and whānau create art and crafts, delicious foods, and dance and musical items. Wonderful family fun!
Blokes 'n Kids Breakfast: An early start where tamariki bring significant blokes to honour the role these men have in their lives.
On Site: We hold several of our own kura/school sporting events throughout the year: Athletics, Cross Country, Football, Ripper Rugby, Tabloid Sports, etc. We use a House System to add competition and identity with a team.
Sport BOP: Sport Bay of Plenty offer events throughout the year and we enter as many as we can. Inter-School Swimming, Cross Country, Athletics, Touch Rugby, Duathlon, and Tennis are some of the sports we participate in.
Football & Rubgy: As a small kura we cannot necessarily field a full team for competitions, however Football and Rugby are club-based, so players can join one of the local clubs closest to where they live.
Netball, Cricket & Hockey: The Netball, Cricket and Hockey Associations allocate interested students to a team prior to the beginning of the season. This enables children to build relationships with others who live in Rotorua and have opportunity to grow their skills and love of sport.
Christian School Network: We are part of a network of Christian kura in the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Taupo and participate in four events each year: Athletics at Porritt Stadium in Hamilton, a Musical Festival at Te Awamutu, Winter Sports Tournament in Taupo and Speech/Chess in Rotorua.
'O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand' (Isaiah 64:8).
